Foreign suppliers keep ownership of inventory shipped under consignment to Exin Logistics. We release products, according to supplier instructions, to  customers which can be  operating in FreeTrade Zone or local companies.  Supplier bills directly to the final customer.

How do I retain ownership of my inventory? 

Your products are shipped under consignment to Exin Logistics, not VAT and no import duties. You retain ownership and can only be released to your customers under your instructions.

Do I need a legal entity in Costa Rica to operate VMI?

No, you do not need a legal entity in Costa Rica to operate a VMI model.  Under the SEL regulations we manage your inventory under consignment without your company having a legal entity, bank account or any other requirement besides complying with the required documentation in your orders to release products to your customers. 

Who bills my customers?

We prepare orders and release products to your customers under your instructions.  You bill them directly from your headquarters.  

What type of customers can I release products to?

We can prepare orders for tax exempt Free Trade Zone beneficiary companies as well as local companies which will have to pay import duties.
